Cinema, archive and community.

Juan Francisco Montes directs and develops films from a practice that combines documentary observation, travel, memory and independent production. In CriptoCine he brings that experience to an operational question: how to open new paths to finance, circulate and preserve works without turning them into formulas.

The platform includes Sierra, a documentary directed by Juan Francisco Montes; I Am an Island, a short fiction film co-directed with Nico Nuñez; and projects in development such as Veranada, Death from Venice and El fuego del agua. Each record clearly separates what can already be watched, what is in process and what is not yet a commercial offering.
